yawn, just what I want to see, 14 year old OCD kids twirling battons and streamers. Then having to listen to bob "more important than sports" costas pontificate about the wonder of china or something instead of watching sports.
Is it on NBC this time?

Perfect place and amount of people to spread asian flu.
If I were queen all the money spent on pomp, Olympic Committee salaries, money spent building huge arenas, opening and closing entertainment and all those medals would go to the poor and hungry. Let Bob report on that! I love sports and competition, but this is just another HUGE waste of money and resourses. Just my two cents. USA,USA,USA

I don't understand why we are hosting the Olympics there.
They are commies.
a horrible civil rights record
they are oppressing the Tibetans
cant they be put under trial in the International Criminal Court?
nevermind, they aren't members. neither is the US because its unconstitutional.

Next time you want to make comments, do a quick check around your house for where most things you've bought was made.

They are communists and they do experience many human rights injustices. However, they have never sought war with us or any of our allies and right now, we, the rich USA, is in-debt up to your eyeballs to these "commies".
They actually prefer US cars to their own makes.
So most of the Beijing pollution is coming from our USA made cars.
While their government is communist, that is not necessarily representative of all the people. With all the tragedy befallen the Chinese this year, I sincerely hope that the Olympics works out well for them, and the world. I think its a step forward in the gradual change of China into (hopefully) a democratic society. Baby-steps.

If you want to be entirely accurate, you'd have to say that most of the china's pollution comes from industry. Not from US cars.
I don't really have a problem with them hosting the olympics, the more open they are the less control the commies will have on their own people.

youre joking right???
their pollution comes from COAL... practically all of their electricity is fueled by coal... not US made cars... and besides (statistically) not too many people in China actually drive a vehichle...

I'll be watching gymnastics and most of the track'n'field events. Of course I will be cheering for the Finnish athletes. There are a few possible gold metal events for them guys. What's our time diff to Beijing and which channel is broadcasting?

yeah the pollution is mostly from coal .... as a last resort they shut down most of the factories recently. hell, they even tried cloud seeding hopeing the rain would cleanse the air.
great pick for the games, olympic commitee!

So this news reporter is interviewing the olympic athletes.
He approaches one and says "I see you are a polevaulter."
The athletes responds "No I'm from Germany. But how did you know my name is Valter?"
