Hellow guys i was wondring what the benifits of hqi are of mongul mh's this is the mongul setup i am getting ... sound good to you iam getting 2x250 Watt Electronic Metal Halide Retro Kit

HQI bulbs require a UV shield, Moguls do not, but many people will say you should have them anyway. I use moguls with no shield. You shouldn't stare at them, but ... well, an operating MH hurts to stare at anyways.
There is no difference from a standpoint of light output.
Moguls can be lit with cheaper ballasts provided they are US type bulbs with the internal ignitor (Hamilton, etc) and not German types (Ushio). They also have cheaper sockets and the extra glass envelope helps keep the temperature around the internal arc envelope more even, potentially making them last longer. Moguls can also be upgraded easier as the wiring and the sockets remain unchanged, the only thing you have to upgrade is the bulb and ballast.
I personally prefer moguls.
