I have a berlin skimmer. No model no. just says 25 to 250 gal.
I also have a turbo pump. I thought, and the instructions say, to skim the surface water into the skimmer but the pics in the instructions show the pump submerged in a sump or submerged several inches in the tank for a hang on model. How does it get surface water? Should there be an overflow box?

the overlow from that tank takes the top inches of the water and drops them into your sump. so everything in your sump is "the top couple inches of water"
