Bermuda

I found out that I will be going to Bermuda next summer.
Any suggestions of what to see?
But main question can you bring back fish/inverts etc. (legally)?
I know the concern for disease but what about a totally separate aquarium?

I would say that you are not allowed to bring stuff back. You need permits to harvest and import into the country.
You didnt hear me say this but... What you might be able to grab are the tiny little hermits. Collect them before you are ready to leave put them in a bag. THen when you goto walk through customs or whatever, give the bag a shake, they will all go into their shells and now you just have a bag of shells.
I am not telling you to do this as it is illegal im sure. I have never done it before, but a friend of mine did.

Thanks. I think?
If it is illegal then I will probably pass. I don't think I'm going to take a chance of paying $thousands in illegal imports over a couple of crabs that I could get for $.40.
Thanks though.
Any particular spots that I NEED to see(aquarium, reef, etc.)

You need to see Captain Allen DeSilva and his boat "De Mako." One of the best billfish captains in the world. He releases "ALL" billfish. The billfish are still around in September but the yellowfin tuna and wahoo fishing are great and very calm seas this time of year.

You got me all excited and I read his website
!!!
However, my wife and I are doing this for about $1500 for our 10th anniversary
. The cost of a one day tour would be a little out of budget. Or my wife might suggest selling my aquarium to pay for it

Thanks though

Any snorkeling/swimming that can be done to see the local saltwater life?
Remember I'm from Ohio so all I see is the local zoos which are sufficient but barely.

I was in Bermuda a long time ago. (1990) The snorkeling was awesome, pink sand beaches. While underwater you can hear the fish munching on the corals. Watch out for barracuda. They were always in the way. We stayed at some place that I don't remember. Way too long ago. We rented scooters and buzzed all over the island. That was long before I was interested in sw fish. THey had 2 places on the island, one in town and one across the road from their beach. You'll have a good time.

went to bermuda last year, the aquarium/zoo is very nice for the size, crystal caves is a fun thing to see, then hit up the typical snorkling spots, i liked tobacco bay. horseshoe bay was recommended to me, but i did't like it so much, on thing i regret is not bring a fishing hook and line, that's how they fish off the land there, at night you can find a lit spot of water. i imagine you could probably get some of those baits that come in a jar. i watched a guy catch some pretty cool fish like that. enjoy bermuda, but i'm gonna expose their deepest darkest secret right now.... the sand is not pink. in certain light, when it's wet, it might be slightly pinkish... but not like the air brushed posters and post cards we've all seen....
