I am interested in finding out all the information I can before jumping into any purchases. I have learned a ton on SWF.Com and plan to learn a lot more on here but I was wondering what the best book for beginners would be? I haven't even decided if I’m going to do FO, FOWLR or a full reef tank, I was thinking about an aggressive tank any books that compare and contract everything? Any others your would recommend for the beginner. I went to the library but they are all outdated.
Thanks for the Help!

Try pocket guide to marine fishes by Scott W. Michhael he also has a series of books called Reef fishes vol 1-2-3 very good, I find them almost the bible of books on salt water fish. If going reef try the reef aquarium vol 1-2-3 By Julian Sprung and J. Charles Delbeek.

I read the New Marine Aquarium and it helped a lot, the only thing I didn't like was some of the fish suggestions. He suggested putting a small tang in a tank, but didn't mention that they need a larger tank when they grow and that it is really best to buy a fish that you will be able to house when it is full grown. But it was a great book that stressed all the right things.

I agree, that's why I use the CMA book for that. He did a real good job with the fish suggestions. In the NMA book he went into more detail on putting the actual tank together, so that was nice to see. Of course I don't think we can ever have to many books on the subject.

I bought the newest book by John Tullock recently and worth buying. It's called Saltwater Aquarium Models. Barnes & Nobles has them for $20.

For that matter; SWF's price is better than I paid in my local bookshop too

That is also my favorite, as I am always referring people to it and using it as a quick reference.
