I've been having some problems with my heaters sticking on. What does everyone recommend as far as the best brand of aquarium heater?

No, I meant sticking on like... not turning off once my temp hits 80.

Won bros II titanium.
LOVE IT! can control the temp from outside the tank and great display of temp. Will never buy another heater you cant control from outside the tank. Only complaint is that the temp is off 4 degrees. When i set it to 76, the tank actually reads 80
I think its because the heater is 150w and the tank only 36g. Sounds bad but doesnt cause a problem because it is consistent, always 4 degrees lower than actual temp.

ok sorry.
I use the 250 watt jager heater in my DT and I haven't had any problems with it.
not sure what the best brand is though.

I've bought a Visi-Therm Stealth Titanium Heater and liked it so much I replaced the heaters in all three of my tanks with them. The temp control has been right on and they aren't glass so I don't have to worry about them cracking/breaking. The only downsides I have noticed are that the temperature is not adjustable from the outside and there is no indicator light to tell you when the heater is on.

I just use the cheap, Penn-Plax non-submersible heaters, and I've never had a problem, and neither has my brother in law. And, he's been using them for over 15 years now. If you're looking for a good submersible heater, the Stealth heater is an excellent choice, as already stated.

I love the Won Brothers Titanium heaters too, they heat well and I have a 1000 watt unit that I use to quickly heat up water for tank changes.
The only thing I don't like about them is that I have also found that they are off a couple degrees and more importantly, you can't see when they are kicking on or off by just looking at the tank.
Up until recently, I have always swore by the Rena Excel heaters that go up to 300 watt. They have been reliable and you can see the red light go on and off from a distance. I like that because there have been times where a heater was not set right or was going wacky and I knew that the heater shouldn't be kicking on and it prompts you to check it. With the Won brothers heaters you can't see it at a distance.
I like the Rena Excel and Won brother heaters the best for different purposes. For the tank disply, I think I would rather have 2 300 watt units of Rena Excell in my 100 gallon tank than just a 500 watt unit of a Titantium heater for two reasons. 1 is that I can see the red lights go on and off and also, if one heater fails, you have backup the other heater will kick in. Really important in the dead of winter.

I have the all-glass brand heaters and they have always worked well for me.
The one i had in my 55 was like 10 years old, worked like a champ until i tore down my 55.
