Which brand of carbon is the best for reef tanks?

I used Seachem Matrix Carbon last time. It claims it will last for several months but I have a hard time believing that. Has anyone else used it? Can you really leave it in for "several months"?

It does not leach phosphates, it's not that expensive and it works good.

ive used black diamond for years
