i was just reading the profile on that queen trigger on another site and it says that you need at least 140g of water. the site goes on to say that they can reach sizes of 24 INCHES. sorry but a 2 foot fish is not going to do well in a 4 foot tank.

Guys - come on...I was just playing around...don't look too much in into it.
My actual opinion is to stay with a fish that is not much of a swimmer. 55's are not very deep and if you get a fish that likes to swim a lot (tang) not good.
I like the fuzzy dwarf lion.
Sweetlips are one of the worst fish to put in a home aquarium. Not only are these guys very difficult to keep, but they require HUGE aquariums (210 +).

also the Radiata lion is a great choice as well.
I guess the question goes back to what you like? That is the great thing about this hobby, there are a TON of species to buy and you options are limitless.

That was supposed to be the joke...queen triggers will have a tough time by itself in a 200+ tank, let alone a 55.

Welcome to the addiction. Saltwater is a great hobby, but can be very frustrating as well.
One thing I would definitly say is do your research (as you are) on the fish before you buy. Impulse buys most often end badly.
Also, you may be able to keep a large fish in a 55 till you eventually upgrade (example are juvi triggers, tangs) but realize that most fish grow very fast and your 55 will feel like a jail cell before long.

iam kinda ocd so i do alot of research (plus i dont like WASTING money). but iam already addicted and iam not a surgeon so i dont have enuff money to support me addiction. hopefuly a 2 or 300g is within a year os so. the only upside to my tank is the puffer which will take shrimp from my hand. iam just expecting more out of my tank
. i just really want more life and color outta my tank
.

If you want color, you can get a dwarf angel. LemonPeel Angels are great fish. Also, Bi-color angels are great.
Check those out
