What is the best fresh food? I have found (tang heaven) red algae its not cheap. I can grow in a tank but $50 for 1lb. Worth it>? I hear dried nori is ok. I want best for tang. I got it 3 days ago (1 1/2") for $28. I drip aclimated 4 hours. He hid little first day but was out. Not hiding now eating algae in tank, has eaten little agae tablet but likes the flakes.

Fed mine regular (and cheap) san fransisco bay green seaweed salad sheets (heard nori's the same thing but cheaper) on a clip (along with the everything else the other fish ate: formula 1&2 pellets, prime reef flakes, frozen mysis, frozen reef plankton and everything in san francisco bays frozen saltwater multipack).
went from this little guy

to double the size in a year

same food?
yeah, that wasn't part of his primary diet by any means. as long as you got the algae sheets going you can pretty much throw the kitchen sink at it for diversity. they should be pooping out what looks like algae dust (usually while eating lol) otherwise they are probably not getting enough vegitation. the anthias were fed twice a day and where carnivores so he was fed alot of other stuff by default.
