I will do a future reef with a deep sand bed, probably 4 inches, and the brand/kind I am thinking about is Arag Alive? Is this good? Is there a better brand in the forum's opinion? thank you.

Is it worth it, because I can get the 100 or so Ilbs of Arag Alive LS for 20+ bucks more than you pay here to get 40 lbs? But thank you for the responses, if its the best, you found lots of worms, good stuff, then it may be very well worth it? Anyone else?

All "Arag-Alive" really is (to my knowledge/experience) is a bag of sand, a bit of sw, and some bacteria. I don't know of any worms, pods, critters, etc. ever appearing out of a bag of it.
Can't see it being worth the money.

daniel411 is right, all it is is sand, no goodies. if you want mini stars, worms, pods, go to your LFS or find someone with a reef tank and ask if you can have a scoop of LS from them, most LFS will let you have some, get a couple then get the 100# bag or so and that would be better then 20#'s for $40 from here if you ask me. also keep in mind when you get LR it will also have lots of goodies. HTH

LR that is uncured (good since that and LS would cycle) only has goodies, or cured sprayed LR has goodies. I can go without goodies to ensure I never get the dreaded MANTIS or CIROLANIDS.

Ok, so I am thinking the best way is to get the precured LR to ensure no little sobs that hurt the reef, get 80 lbs of fairly inexpensive reef sand or Arag ALive for the bacteria, and then real LS like from here say 20 lbs with some worms or pods maybe to seed right?

That is what most people do...seed their sand. I bought 100# of lr and 40 # of ls from here and had neither of the nasty buggers you mentioned--though at the time you could only get fiji here and that us what I ordered.
