Low current and medium light.. There base can be put in the sand or wedged in rocks. I have them in both places..

I have to myself and they do not like current. One sits fairly close to the top and the other is more shaded. I had to move him a few times before he would really open up.CLICK HERE TO SEE MY REEF.

depends on your lighting =vho or mh. IME they like medium light so if you have mh shade them a little in the sand depending on watt. They come from sandy areas = the point on the bottom of the skeleton. Rounded/plating corals usually like medium lighting. Branching corals like alot of like. You can tell alot about a coral by there shape

I have several in my reef......below is a growing red/green that was purchased as about a 50 cent piece sized infant.....now in his teens and growing like a weed......its been on the sand since I got it and is sort of under a overhang of rock......medium current....moderate light....and a direct feeding at least once a week....plus regular addition of dt's phytoplankton.......the assortment of others have basically the same needs....but are placed in different locations.

mine liked low lighting and little to no current. that was before i forgot about him and he fell between a rock and got no light and died. can ya'll believe i forgot about a $50 coral. yeah i'm kicking myself for it still. this just happened a few days ago.

mine, on the other hand, likes medium current and medium light. he's in the sandbed in an area that gets a little shade from an overhang. he's very testy about current and likes to pout if the current is reduced for any reason.
