Best place to find mated clown pair?

What is the best place to get a reasonably priced mated pair of perc or ocellaris clowns? I've been looking for a while, and every time I find somthing I can afford it's already sold...

I agree, just be sure one is a little bigger then the other. I have had mine for about 3 yrs, the male died, and I added a new much smaller clown about 6 mo ago, the paired right up and have been laying eggs for a couple of months now.

Especially if this is your first tank, you are not going to start breeding clowns from day 1. Just buy two clowns, like everyone else said, and eventually they will most likely start breeding. Now this could be a year or two down the road, but that will give you ample time to set-up a special tank for the clown offspring. It will also give you time to research and see how to do it the right way.

I agree that getting 2 juveniles is the way to go because buying and transporting a pair may upset their spawing schedule and they might not spawn for 2 years anyway. If your really wanting a mated pair. I would check with Inland Aquatics.

That's true! Just go to the fish store, pick out a heathy looking small clown. Then get one bigger than the other. If you had a choice I would get tank raised clowns other than ones caught from the ocean. My clowns were from the ocean and the bigger one died of ich because she was stressed out from the travel.
