Ive never actually tested the water I do changes with but I dont dose ANYTHING to my tank. Alk is steady at 9 dkh and calcium varies fron 400 to 450 ppm. I dont test for anything else but trates and they're at about 15ppm,but thats because my bioload is big.

Thanks, that would fix my problem! My tank is killin' me on calc. 400-450 would be nice!

I have used Kent then Instant Ocean, then Instant Ocean Reef Crystals. Now I am back to Kent. I am suprised that only one person here said they used Kent and then someone mentioned their fish store had problems with it. So out of curiousity what problems did they have and is kent salt a bad brand normally?
