Was wondering what would be the best skimmer for under 200 dollars. Was looking at asm sedra, octopus 125, urchin.. Have an aqua c remora Hot and was not too impressed. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks 0 its for a 75 gallon reef tank.

I'm surprised you don't like the remora, although it may be too small for a 75. I had one on a 28 gallon for years. Great skimmer. On my 75 I have an AquaC EV-120. Very good skimmer. Fairly compact, too.

You can get a Euro-reef for right around 200. I have one on my tank and it works pretty well. I don't have much to compare it to besides my old Prism skimmer which wasn't very good.

if you can do euroreef it'd probably be the better...they are made out of a better material(cell cast) than some like asm, etc(extruded acrylic)...but thats not to say asm or octopus are bad skimmers, i'd probably just go with euroreef over those.

thanks for the help) Euroreef might be the winner tho most expensive) might have to save a little more for it. checked out the typhoon also, nice price but have not read anything about them anywhere. euroreef and octo.... such hard choices=) really just want something thats gonna demolish the remora. lol.. thanks again guys)

I don't think that's a sign that it's too small for your tank. You might consider pulling it out and cleaning all of its components. When I cleaned mine on my smaller tank one time I was shocked to find that it started pulling out lots of gunk that it had been missing. Be sure to unscrew the little plastic

inside the skimmer assembly and make sure it's clear. Just a thought.

Prez...not too dissuade you from getting a more appropriate skimmer, but what kind of pump are you running to your RemoraC?
