best skimmer for a 48Gal...

Hey, I am looking for a new skimmer (mine has overflowed for the last time).
I was looking at the Aqua C Remora Hang-On Protein Skimmer but i have read alot about micro bubble making its way in to the tank and i really don't want to buy the Bubble Eliminator ($39.95)
...
I was also looking at Tunze Nano DOC Protein Skimmer 9002.
Heres what i have found about it:
The "Nano" model series has been designed for the use in reef biotopes up to 200 litres (52 US gal.), and is gentle to the plankton in operation. The DOC Skimmer 9002 removes up to 80 per cent of organic waste matter, such as protein and cellulose, from the aquarium water. Very little space is required in the aquarium, and its handling is very easy.
On account of their construction, these models are particularly quiet during operation. On account of the high demands in stone coral aquariums, this skimmer should be used only in aquariums with about 100 litres (26 US gal.) of water. Mixed aquariums or soft coral aquariums up to 200 litres (52 US gal.) can be set up without any problems.
Delivery condition: Completely ready for mounting with holding device for vertical panes and horizontal glass tops up to 39 mm (1.5 in).
Principle behind the Tunze Nano Skimmer:
By means of the water jet of the Nano pump and a high-performance jet, a fine pearly air mixture is produced which is released into an easy-to-clean skimmer cup through a newly developed reflection system. The protein-containing aquarium water diffuses into the skimmer through the opening in the bottom and on the rear, which is gentle to the plankton, thus suitable in particular for breeding tanks with living plankton.
I will only be keeping mostly softies and a few LPS...
which one would you choose???

I use the aqua c remora and like it just fine. I also purchased the bubble eliminator but got rid of it because (having a fan on my DT to keep it cool) the evaporation was crazy and it would make a slurping noise every night. I don't introduce any bubbles into my DT. MHO

IMO i would go with the aqua c with the bubble eliminator..or maybe cpr bak pak 2r reef ready. A skimmer is something that you don't want to skimp on.
Skimmate should be foamy not watery.. otherwise you will have crazy evaporation.

aren't tunzes good???
I also think its redicuous that when you spend $180 on a skimmer but then because it has a design flaw you have to spend another $40 thats the only thing that makesme doubt the AquaC...

I run the same setup with my aqua c as steve, (w/out bubble eliminator) ...no issues with microbubbles. I would recommend.

Never! If you are worried about overflowing you can buy the overflow drain. That's what brings your price up to $180.00. I paid $160 for mine without the drain. I just empty and clean the cup daily and everything is fine. I keep my cup as high as I can to have my skimate as dry as possible. My cup has never been filled higher than 1/3rd of the way up with daily monitoring
. What causes my evaporation is blowing a hang on fan below my lights to keep the water temp down. I live in florida and I have to fight to keep my tank temp below 80 degrees.
