Hello everyone, I have a 24AP and I recently have been looking at a couple protein skimmers, pretty much I just want one that works, ive read good things on ASM and CPR and AquaC but the true question is...
WHICH ONE IS THE ULTIMATE?
Now I know there are some nice $200+ skimmers but I dont feel like shelling out 200 bucks right now, id rather start with a cheaper one and if I have to upgrade later I will, with that being said.
I am looking for a Skimmer either ASM/CPR/AquaC
please post which out of the 3 you prefer and why, it will be a in sump skimmer but I can also do a HOB, but preferably in sump.
Spending limitis $130 right now, so go ahead and post up!!

I am waiting for the new euro reef nano to come out.....any time now.
gonna be around $80 and comes with a meshwheel pump. Supposed to fit in the back chambers with no problem.

No fission , you must not listen to he who speaks such nonsense. With your limit , you can get this one its the cpr sr3

but since you have the aqua pod it may not fit I have the biocube. If you are going to spend the money , don't get an air stone skimmer.IMO

The fission is pump driven , but thats even worse than the air stone models. The fission you have to constantly adjust to water level. Do a search on fission, I am not the only one that has been burned

Venturi skimmers aren't much more than than their airstone cousins.
If I were you, I'd save the money for corals. Most of the healthiest nanos I've seen ran without skimmers. Nanos are where you can really take to heart the saying less technology, more biology.
If you're adamant about a skimmer I'd get the biocube as well. Its cheap, online maybe $30, and it works well. I personally just started testing one out and it pulls out a good amount of gunk everyday. I also feel though that this gunk would normally be eliminated with water changes so its a moot point.
