Best temp.?

I keep my tank at 78 - I've been hearing so many different temps that I'm confused. For now I'm just making sure it's consistent - my fish seem happy (3 damsels & 2 percula clowns) Does the right temp depend on the fish ? (I have a FO) They don't seem to be darting but they are quite active - is my tank too hot?

Your tank is not even close to too hot. IMHO, ideal temp is around 82.

78 is perfect, as long as you do not have temperature swings youll be ok,

i keep mine at 82-83
