Best temperature control?

I live in the Midwest where temperatures fluctuate constantly. Since I am out of town constantly, I am not there to adjust my heater everytime the temp. in the house changes. What is the best and cheapest way to control my temperature? Currently, I have a Marineland Dual-temp heater that supposedly adjusts itself to maintain a stable temp but doesn't seem to do so. Its a 75 gallon tank. Should I add another heater maybe? What are other options?

I don't know what kind heater that is you have, but all of the heaters I've seen you just set and forget. I've got Hagen Tronic heaters in both my tanks. So far so good. I haven't gone through a winter yet when the house gets cold. So far the big tanks heaters haven't had to turn on, but the small tank has a bunch already. I have them set at about 78 and that's where it stays. In my big tank I do have two. One on each side by the powerheads to try and get the warm water circulated and hopefully avoid any hotspots.

If you are needing to readjust this heater at all,,Then you need a new one...As chocochipper said,You should just set it,and forget it...I use Ebo Jager submersables and have never had to touch them after the initial adjustments...

I also use a Hagen Tronic and love it! I keep mine in my sump though. Heats nicely and you don't even see it in the display tank.
