Best testing kits

I am trying to find the best brands for testing Nitrate and Phospate.
The current kits of these two have always tested at 0 levels. I have been testing irregularly with these for 1 year. I know my water quality in not perfect so these must be inaccurate. I think my water quality is less than perfect because I have always had an algae problem. Any insight? What do you guys use?

Just because you have algae doesn't mean you have nitrates or phosphates. I use Rea Sea or Salifert test kits. Several things effect algae (light, water flow, etc). If you really want to know take your water to your LFS and see what they get for parameters. Is the algae in one spot mainly or all over the tank. How long are you running your lights? Have you recently changed anything in the tank?

Overfeeding and topping off with tap water can give you some nasty hair algae. If your test for phosphates comes up 0, it might be because your algae is eating up all the available phosphates in the tank.

i like saliferts the best. they are pretty expensive, but extremely accurate, quick, and have a more readable scale.
