Best Type of Ham?

I had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich yesterday, and I had it with smoked ham. It was awesome. I once had it with virginia ham and it was horrible. Just goes to show you how different the types of ham there are.
What are your favorite types of ham?

SHAVED!!! Shaved so thin that you can see through it. I was getting ham one day and I told him I wanted it sliced thinner than he was cutting it. He said if he did it would fall apart, I told that is exactly what I wanted. Turkey has to be the same was also.

Not a big fan of the "lunchmeat" hams that are available. I like either fresh ham or the spiral sliced variety. Leftover spiral sliced ham makes EXCELLENT sandwiches.

It wasn't on the list. lol Lunchmeat ham is honey ham. But, my absolute favorite ham is the Schwab ham that I pick up from a meat market here in town. Then I take it home slice diamonds on it then put pineapple and cherries on it. I use the pineapple and marachino(sp?) cherry juice with brown sugar as a glaze.
Bake it and enjoy.

Mickelberry's Black Forest Ham.
Go to one of the Honey Baked Ham stores around Thanksgiving. People stand in line around the building for one of their Spiral Hams. OINK! OINK!

Pig is the one animal in this world I would be fine living without. They make the most horrid noise when they squeal, and they're filthy. Jews cant eat them because they're "unclean" and there are stories of Jesus casting demons into pigs because even Jesus hated them... haha
But the meat they produce is so good... so succulent... I could eat ham all day. Maybe I enjoy it so much because I know I'm eating a DEAD pig.
That and bacon. Nothing beats lean peppered bacon 1/4" thick. I could eat a couple of pounds of that for breakfast... even if it meant a trip to the bathroom 10 minutes later and a trip to the hospital shortly after that.

hands down black forrest, its the only ham i'll eat :D no others compare, that i have found atleast

I got a hog from the Hueterites (SP?) which are basically Rocky Mountain Amish about 4 years ago, best pig I've ever eaten. Not sure how they did their hams but they were especially tasty.

Which one? The lunchmeat or the ham that I make? I don't eat my ham but twice a year. Easter and Christmas. That's it. The majority of it is consumed by the entire family. I just eat a small slice or two.
And since I'm pregnant, I cook all lunchmeat before I eat it because my OB dr says there's a possibility of bacteria. I take no risks with my baby.
