No, the EV comes with a pump (if you buy) it and they are sold without pumps. The problem with AquaC is the pumps they like, are poor. I had a mag on mine and it sucked. I got a Eheim and it WILL kick.................

and what kind of skimmer is on your 240 gallon
I run the MRC 4R on my setup and it's a piece of cake to setup......The gate valve on the left side is what you regulate the water height in the main skimmer riser.......The becketts are connected up top with the gray PVC and that is where your pump output would get connected to.........The pump suction would connect to the bulkhead on the bottom front bulkhead facing you and the supply feed line would connect to the bulkhead on the top of the skimmer box(the blue box) between the beckett risers..........

Sequence just release the Dart meshwheel pump for this application......

I run the Blueline HD70 on mine and it runs fantastic........I'm not thrilled with the BlueLine pump noise though.......I'm considering swapping it to a Sequence pump and making all my pumps Sequence.....

Sorry MRC 4R, that skimmer you have listed is recirc skimmer.......but it doesn't have the quick disconnect to empty and clean the skimmer cup.....I would highly recommend spending the extra $40.00 on that upgrade......Patrick just shoot me an email and I'll give you the low down on what you want to know and then some!!!!!

I use the MRC skimmers now and have to bow down to acrylic on the skimmer game.
I ran coralife skimmers on all my tanks and swore by them (big fan of ESU). When I decided to go the real way and stop using band aids on my tanks, Acrylic showed me the way.
Yes the MRC are a little pricy......... but in the long run the coralife skimmers are just band aids. You will spend more money trying to keep everything right, when a good quality skimmer makes all the difference in the world.
My tanks have never looked so clean in all their days, including water changes every two weeks like clock work on a Sunday at noon time and skimpy feedings.
On a side by side run while I was still getting my becketts set up to the “sweat spot” and the CSS 220 that has been running for years and could not keep up with a nearly broken in MRC recirculation 2 and this is on my 125 gallon DT.
My friends tank runs a reef devil and we did a one day challenge my MRC being brand new and his reef devil up and running two years and in 24 hours I had more green/ black spackle in my cup then his cup. He is now getting an MRC soon.
Money well spent now is money saved down the road.
A few pennies here and their and soon you’ll be able to crack the piggy bank and have some serious skimming power.
Something to think about.

I had a seaclone (set up as hob) on my 55g and i've never had more problems w/ hardware in my entire life! The twist/snap fittings leaked all over my freakin hardwood and what a big fat waste of cash! Not to mention the cost of having the floor re-finished. I since purchase a proclear 250 in my Proclear wet-dry and i've never been happier. Not a bad buy for the $

When did they make a meshwheel pump? I know the needlewheel is out now. They recommend a diameter of 18" on the skimmer as well,Must keep that in mind. These pumps are not for small tanks.A Dart needlewheel should not be used on a beckett skimmer, they do not work well for pressure applications.
For low cost i have heard that the octopus skimmers are well made, and perform well.I have an asm g3 that has been a solid performer for the last two years,as long as your sump stays consistent. The new ATI Bubblemaster skimmers are pretty impressive, and still relatively cheap with low wattage to boot.
