I got some coral frags yesterday one is a mushroom and the other is a kenya tree. I wanted to know the best way to attach them to live rock so they wont float around in the tank. The kenya tree was attach to some small crushed coral, should I try and take those off and super glue it to a rock?Right now it is just in my sand. And I put the mushroom in a container in the tank for the night with some sand at the bottom so it will attach to that, what should I do with it now?

since the tree is attached to some CC you can just dry the pieces of CC with a paper towell and dry the rock you want to glue it to and superglue gel the cc to the rock. with the mushroom once it attaches to some of the sand in your container you can glue the sand to a rock.

Alright thanks, but I have one more question. What if I wanted to attach the kenya tree to a larger rock?Would I have to take the rock out? And when I am drying the crushed coral is it ok to have the kenya tree out of the water for that time?

yes take the rock out bc its much easier that way. the kenya tree could be out of the water for a few minutes.

You don't have to take it out though as suggested by nycbob you will get better results. You can pat dry the coral base that it is attatched to, place a dollop of gel on it and quickly place it underwater and where you want it, move it back and forth against the rock untill it starts to setup and hold it there for a few seconds.
It has a lot to do with the brand of super glue you are using
. The best I have ever used, and I have used about all of them from Duro to ICE to the cheap Dollar store brands is the Locktite found in Lowes. Comes in a 10gm tube. Sets up fast and holds strong.

Not trying to Hijack your thread Hops but lost a shoom someplace.
Can you rubberband a softy to a rock, or with that hurt them or they slime out of that as well?

Alright well i will just wait till it attaches to the sand. But i did glue the kenya tree to the live rock. It did have the crushed coral attached on the bottom and I did have it out of the watter for a few minutes. But now it wont open up the slightest bit,do you guys think this is a problem,or will it open back up in a few?

IME they either slime out of it or rip. no matter how loose the band is, if its tight enough to hold the shroom to the rock its tight enough to rip through it.

I have used superglue on colt coral. It was bonded for some time where I put it. Then the coral move off the glue to one side.

I hope i didnt super glue the bottom of the kenya tree itself while i was glueing the crushed coral it was one. If I did is my new kenya pretty much dead?

I believe it will be fine and the reaction you described is how my colt coral acted and all is well with my corals.
