best way to do water change?

what should i use to take remove the water out of my tank..
i have nothing to use and i want ideas of the most efficient method.. thanks

I use a syphon hose myself and there is no risk of gettin' a mouth full. Just fill the large end and elevate it...when the water starts to come out the other end(which is lower than the display) just submerge the large end and syphon away. Then I pour the new water in my sump.:cool:

Don't buy the hose at the
LFS go to the local home center it will be alot cheaper. I bought a 25 foot piece at Home Depot for $2.00.

I agree with going to Home Depot or Lowes. Purchase the hose
from them. Another idea is to buy the buckets they sell for holding a beer keg. They hold about 15-20 gallons of water. Great for pre-mixing your water.

I bought 2 gas siphons from the auto parts store. I have my water in 5 gal jugs. one hose into the main tank (water coming out) and then one hose into the sump (new water going in) By buying the same siphon hoses the rate is the same. It takes about 10 min per 5 gal jug.
