Best way to secure a sponge?

I have a Orange tree sponge. Currently it is sitting on my sand bed. I read both ways...attach sponges only to rock OR submerge sponge into sand bed only. It seems happy enough, but any suggestions?

i have a orange sponge and i just pushed the base down into the sand. beatutiful coral btw good luck and have a great week!

I would like to put mine in the sand but it always falls, so I wedged it in between some rocks.

i usually get some aquarium safe adhesive and attach it to a dry rock usually i use cured agrocrete
