My 28g is still up right now and i have had this problem. I left mt RO/DI unit (meowzer the same one you have) out in the colorado cold and it ruptured 4 canisters and filters
. I may re-place it after winter but for now we buy water from the store. But water is about $1 a gallon. Well my tank is an open top tank it the water evaporates about 3 gallons of water a week. This is getting a pain to re fill all the time and i was wondering if there is a way to stop it. Thanks!

my tank evaporates 2.5 gallons a day. Acrylic is right its part of the natural process of the tank. you can't cover the tank to slow it or you will prevent proper O2/CO2 transfer.

I don't want to be considered rude, but this is a natural occurrence with tanks, and it's something we all have to learn to combat or deal with. Simply throwing glass lids in doesn't stop it will compound and create other issues. Evaporation is a part of the hobby. Dehumidifier if your worried about humidity, you could try covering the sump, exhaust fans, but again a beast we all deal with.

My lfs sells water $.50 for fresh, and $1.00 for saltwater. I just use my jugs. I moved and still don't have everything where it needs to be so I have been buying water. Honestly, buying my water has been alot less trouble than I thought it would be.
