I just received this copperband from SWF.com on Friday with what I think is Lymphocyctis can you help? I understand there is no treatment for it but a good healthy home. Is it contagious to other fish? I have looked at the pics in the disease thread that you have posted and would just like a confirmation that it is not ick. I have never had ick in my tank and am a little worried. The copperband did not eat the first day but did take care of a few feather duster hitch hikers that had shown up over the past year. He is eating small amounts of various frozen foods several times a day now it will eat about a dozen pieces then stop eating :notsure: A few hours later I will feed it again and it will eat a bit more..... already soaking in garlic also.
Notice that it only apperars on the fins no where else on the body.
I have attached some good pics of the problem,

I don't really see ich. Maybe I am missing it though.
Like stated, lymph goes away with proper and stable water parameters, as well as a nutritious and varied diet. Those four things are neccessary to "treat" lymphocyctis.
If you are not already using garlic and vitamins in the fish's food, I would begin to. As far as vitamins, I like Zoe, Selcon, and VitaChem.
Lymph is not contagious however.

Lion may be right. On 2nd look it does look like lypmh. However, I would not rule out the ich. Keep your eye on the fish over the next week. You should know soon which it is.

Thanks for the replies the reason I don't think it is ick is that I give all my fish a 4 min fresh water dip when I get them as a precaution. - I know many say it may or may not help and be very stressful but I have never had any ill affects from dong it. And when I did this not one of the spots disappeared which also led me to belive it is not ick. In the past in other tanks with fish that have had the parasite badly I have seen the ick cysts fall off after the fresh water treatment. I also did a formalin 3 bath for 50 min with no affects on the spots.
I am soaking in garlic extreme and selcon alternating each meal.

You did a freshwater bath and 50 minute formalin bath on this fish? Yikes....
A quarantine and hypo (if neccessary) would have been a lot more successful, safer, and less stressful on the fish, in my opinion.

They where a day a part first the 4 min fresh water dip. Then the bath the next day. He seems to be getting more and more aggressive for the food when I feed now with the other fish :jumping:

Well, aggression while feeding is always a good sign. Like I said, if you have the four things I mentioned, the lymph will go away on its own.

Are these spots pretty much the same, hasn't spread out to other areas?

If your water quality is good and your other tank inhabitants are not stressing him out it will go away on it's own in about a month. If it is feeding that is great. It looks a little skinny to me, the back of it's head is a bit pinched in. Mine loves mysis shrimp. Good luck!
