I now have a 46 gal tank with a porc puffer, spiny puffer, sweetlips and dwarf. My angelfish died 2 days ago. My lion died yesterday. I think it is a result of my electricity goin out for 11 hrs the night before. Their colors were very faded the day after I got power back. My spiny box puffer has a severe case of ich and white spots on his teeth and around his mouth. I am setting up a QT tank but the water is still very cloudy, its been running for approx 20 hrs.
Am I able to do the hyposalinity thing in my main tank? or should I just put the puffer in the QT tank and do it there? My dwarf lion is acting funny. He keeps hangin out at the top of the tank and looks like hes gasping for air sometimes. I dont want to lose anymore fish! Ive tried some types of medication that my LFS suggested but still no results yet.
Please help!

Do you have LR?
If you can't supply electricity to your tank with a generator, or backup system, get several battery operated airstone pumps. I was able to keep my FO going for a week during Hurricane Georges with no fatalities using 12 battery backups.

Not to butt in here but isn't that WAY to many fish for a 46? Just curious. Couldn't that be part of the problem?

You can easily do hyposalinity in your tank....and since your tank is in bad shape, it would be a good idea since you will be doing a lot of water changes.
Use RO/DI water. Be sure to keep close taps on pH. Do you have a refractormeter?
Take the time to read the Hyposalinity procedure in the FAQ Thread at the top of this forum.
