The formalin bath is only good for 45 minutes. So, you need a bucket with the formalin bathwater, an airstone pump min. When the bath is done, the water is disgarded. It can not be used for the next bath.
A gallow or two, then adjust the dose as detailed in the formalin post in FAQ. The key is to drop in an airstone or micro PH. Formalin depletes air in water pretty quickly.
And what problem do you have that you need to use formalin?
Ok......
Im already treating my yellow mimic for brooklynella.
I did my first 45 minute bath today.
Now it seems as if the brooklynella has moved to his eye....
the eye is cloudier than the right eye. And the brooklynella is peeling.... is this good? (peeling not eye)
What about a picture? I just have a hard time thinking the problem is brook. How long have you had this fish?
Also, stay in the same thread. Its difficult folllowing the problems your having in 3 places.
ok.
I have had this fish for about 5 days now.
I noticed this problem on day 3. I was able to start the Formalin treatment today.
It has appeared to get worse over time.
IT started as a fuzzy translucent white patch on the head area.
After the treatment i was observing him today. The patch appears to be sloughing off like one of your pictures in the disease FAQ.
But....the eye is now fuzzy white like the patches.
I know its not ICH since its very pale and large dots....it does not look like any ich pictures i have ever seen.
you should be proud of me.... luckily this guy is very photogenic.
I got about 6 shots of the tang and his problem.
Best shot
see how it looks like it is on his eye?
I would definately say head and lateral line. But would like to actually see a clearer picture to say with absolute certainity. It seems from those pics that the flesh in the effected area is raised?
HLLE would not develop over night. Did this fish have symptoms when you got him a wk ago?
