Bettas .......

I do have pics, just been too busy to get them up. If my meeting tonight doesnt last to long i will get them up! I dont reallllllly think i can spend the money on a 10 gallon tank, but it is so tempting. Uggghhhh! You people make me spend to much money =P. I should just give my pay check back to my work and tell them just let me but what ever i want every week. (I work in a petsmart) I would like to get a school of fancy guppies or something. Maybe i should start with a 10 gallon small freshwater. Hmmm. Will think on that one.

I know a tad about using japanese fighting fish for sport. I did a little research on the subject once upon a time. Evidently, what people do is they get a small dish and fill it with a little water, they make it very shallow. It needs to be just shallow enough that the fish can lie on it's side and be more than half covered. Obviously VERY little water. Then you plunk your males in. They will go crazy and swim around. This along with really meaty and protein rich foods builds up their muscles and their bitter hatred. Then you take on another person's betta and they fight to the death.
Horrible, isn't it?
Bettas are insectivorous. Be sure to supplement their diets with store bought insects such as blood worms or black worms.
I am however not completely against dog fighting. Check this out: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/the-j...hting-dog.html

Bettas in the wild, during dry seasons, hop from puddle to puddle to stay alive. So I think that a little jar isn't so bad.
My wife has one, its kinda cool looking. Dark blue almost black. We have two bamboo plants in there to give it a feng shui feeling.
It's name is Dog because that is what we really wanted but couldn't because of the apartments we lived in.

He's really pretty! :)
Thanks, and he really likes his jar. Plenty of plants to swim through and he has his roman collumns to live in, he really likes, it. He has really gotten excited at feeding times, i come into the kitchen in the morning and he is swimming all around excited for his food. Or in the afternoon when i get home. And at night when i go to bed, otherwise he just slowly swims around exploring his jar. He also loves his blood worms, I keep them as a treat, usally he gets them 1 -3 times a week.
