any ideas they are pretty similar priced just hoping someone may have a one or the other and may be able to give me some insight. It will be for my new 90 gallon in a sump with room for a foot print 14.5" by 12"

They are the SAME EXACT SKIMMER. Thats like comparing an ice cap ballast to an ice cap ballast. They are made by the same maker.....Just different sticker.

Go with the octo. Alot of people are having trouble with the MSX. And it is a pain to get in contact with them and not good customer support. Alot of people are also having problems with the mesh wheels they come with.

you ca go with either. They are the same skimmer. The reducer on one might be a little different. The biggest difference is the mesh mod. MS uses zip tieswhen doing the mesh mod where R uses fishing line to do the mesh mod. I have used both I like using the line over the zip ties. he ties are easier bit create more work for the pump. just thought I would add that. I am using CNC reducer on mine. The pinwheels are slightly different. Otherwise you are getting same skimmer. Same body and pump. Kinda like buying a gmc or chevy truck...
