Beware of this seller!!

Hi,
I just wanted to warn people of this ---- seller: ihaverock
He sells base rock:

He has many buyers, however he is very shrewd, devious and cunning. Ill tell you how.
He is selling 50lbs of base rock. I contacted him for a custom package of 25lbs. He agreed to it and then basically billed me using paypal. Before paying him I kept asking him about the rocks, how they are, where they are from and so on. He replied promptly. However, as SOOON as I sent him the payment using paypal he stopped replying to my emails. I emailed how about 5 times and I received zero replies.
So this seller tried to be slick and assumed that since the transaction was NOT made using ----, it would be easy to con me. Because obviously I have no means of posting feedback on him on ----.
But little does he know that paypal and ---- have merged. Paypal can check my ---- messages to see that I did contact him from ---- about the rock.
He now will have to show proof of tracking ID or refund me.
I had dealt with frauds before, and paypal always came through.
Anyhow, I suggest no one buys from that buyer. Buy at your own risk.

Thanks for the imput I would also leave Negative feedback on ---- for him. That way to let anyone that buys from him know what happened. There is a comment area were you could leave what happend in shorter terms but then everyone else in the world would know also.

It's only been 6 or 7 days since you ordered it, you sure he's ripping you off...?

also he has pretty good feedback I think that you might just need to wait a little bit. The seller has 10 days to make transactions with buyer. Unless other arrangements have been made. Michael has bought hot wheels and it's taken 2 weeks sometimes to recieve his stuff. It's just out of good cortesy to send out ASAP. But if you don't get it you can still leave Neg feedback or if you do get it you would want to leave good or neutral feedback. ---- seller depends on there feedback to stay in business.

It has been 11 days. He assured me that the MINUTE he will receive the payment, he will ship it ASAP. I have all his emails. While I understand it can take almost 14 days sometimes to receive an item, but that is not my concern.
the problem is he wont reply to ANY of my emails anymore!!!!!
I never received a TRACKING ID. If he replied to my emails, or sent a tracking ID, I would trust him.
You see, as I said before, since I did NOT use ---- to buy this, and he billed me directly from paypal, I am positive he is ripping me off. Since it was a MONEY REQUEST and I submitted payment, he feels he can get away with it.
Im positive by the emails he will not send me the rock.
So you guys should just watch yourselves.. In his reviews, there are some people who said they never received the item.
But thats so simple for the seller to just counter the buyers remarks and say 'he shipped it and bla bla blaa....'
We have a sly one here guys.... (

This is why the seller decided to con me...

How many times have you emailed him? It sounds like a lot, maybe he is sick and tired of all the emails and is blowing you off.(rightly so)
Tracking #, how was it shipped, by UPS or FedEx or was it through the USPS? Do you know?
Why did you post this now?
While I understand it can take almost 14 days sometimes to receive an item
and it's been only 11 days.
YOU pick the circumstances of this transaction and now you are unhappy about the way it played out, I'm sorry if it doesn't work out but you chose to go against ----'s recommendations about NOT doing a private transaction outside of ----.

how much was shipping? because that seems like a pretty good deal for base rock. he's got a 97% approval rating, so he doesn't SEEM like a con artist. I live in roughly the same geographic location as this guy, and we've had 2 hurricanes in the past 2 weeks, maybe that had something to do with the slow shipping.

I work in the IT industry so NO I did not SPAM him. The minute I sent him payment and he said he will ship it ASAP, I said Thanks a lot can you please send me a Tracking ID.
Okay now that was it. I did not hear from the guy since.
Now, I said I know it can take up to 14 days, but did you hear me say that THIS GUY DID NOT REPLY TO A SINGLE EMAIL OF MINES AFTER HE GOT THE PAYMENT!!! Which is why in 11 days I took action.
I don't know what shipping he used. No matter what it was, a tracking number is available on all services, because I used all 3 before.
Pontius, the shipment can take 80 years for all I care. The money I spent is not much either for me to lose sleep over. But Im not going to sit around have some guy just con me like this.
Before he made a sale, he was replying to my emails INSTANTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot emphasize enough on instant.
And as soon as he received payment, he stopped replying to my emails INSTANTLY. Again, I cannot emphasize enough on INSTANT.
Also, like I said, he has a high rating for the people who used ---- to make the purchase. He wants to rip me off ONLY because he made a special package for me and we used paypal directly.
Nevertheless, he is a theif. He wont get away with this. I did not post this on the forum for you to question me and say maybe hes a saint and this and that. I really gain nothing by helping everyone else out here. I did it because I know people buy from ----, so I was looking out.
You guys can do the rest.

you will probably get the stuff in a day or two. maybe you SHOULD have used ---- so there WOULD have been a middle man to complain to. I didn't see anybody say this guy was a saint, they're trying make you look at the bright side and see that maybe it will work out for you. but if you want some cheese with your whine, fine, this guy is a terrible

ok so lets see your story.. i will get my product in a day or 2, but the seller just totally refused to reply to my emails to build a great customer database.. right? thats your theory?
i do have someone to complain to. its a little company known as paypal.
i was being sarcastic with the saint thing..
i didnt use ---- BECUZ this guy had good ratings on ----.. still look how decietful he was...

I'm not saying you didn't get scammed. but 11 days is cutting it close. does that 11 days include Sundays? now if you don't have it in say, 14 business days, I'd say you definately got taken. I've never done business with the guy, so I can't vouch for him. if your stuff doesn't come, I'd take your word and never buy anything from him. I bought all my base rock from Hi Rocks, I was pretty happy with them.

imagine if i sold you something. before you payed me, I answered all your questions instantly.
now right after I get your payment, you do not hear from me anymore nor do I give you a tracking ID.
What would you think? The longer you wait, the longer it takes to resolve a problem...
If someone stole a car.. If he has 2 weeks to run, he can get far..
I just want it taken care of asap.
To me so far, everything leads to deceit...:mad:

I had that happen before, I paid a seller and never received a tracking #, even after I asked Twice. If he's a power seller he must be doing some serious business. maybe he thinks the transaction is done, and you just have to wait, just my 2 cents

I agree that it may take some time, but mujtba I agree with you. Buying things off the internet shouldn't end when you send the money. Customer service can go a long way in ordering from someone, repeat business, and word of mouth. I bought some base rock off of ---- and the guy answered all my questions before and after. Went a long way in having me order some more from him. Hope it works out for you. Thank god for paypal!

If u used paypal, then u can complain through paypal. If you saved all of his emails, u can use that against him. There are certain rules for paypal as well, and if he is a paypal user, and u give the people at paypal his email, and notify them that he hasnt complied, then they will get him. Its is against the law. Wat they CANT control is u sending a money order, and then the guy checks it and doesnt send the package. But electronically, they can either recover yer money, or otherwise. There is also etrade, which is a system that can go after internet fraud. it is used with ----. Just read all of the guidelines taken with Paypal, follow them, and u will be satisfied. I had a guy like that once, but I got through to him and got my money back, and im only 15. U should be able to figure this out with yer amount of years under yer belt. Internet fraud happens, ALOT. Just a while ago there was a lil piece of crap named STACEY who took from people on this site, and the people who got stolen from never hunted stacey down. They just kept asking and asking questions to people like us on how to get their money back. Just an example. Ull get yer money bak if u work hard enough though.:joy:

hi salty, no i never got my rock! that seller is a thief!!! he ripped me off only cuz i didnt use ----, and was tryn to be sly. since he had a lot of sales, naturally i felt safe enuf to trust him. boy was i wrong.. well paypal is investigating and since he has no tracking number for me and cannot prove he shipped it, he will have to refund.. :mad:
