bicolor blenndy is an herbavore only???????

so i was jumping around online fish sites and i saw that one said they only eat algea sheets, I just got mine and he graises on the algea on my rocks but he goes nuts over the mysis i feed. However they said that a hippo is ok in a 20g also so maybe they just need to do some homework?????? :notsure:

Bicolor blennies prefer algae as a food supply. They will eat meat when their preferred foods are in short supply. But, each bicolor is different even though the books say that they are herbivores. Those that wind up as omnivores do better in home aquaria, those that don't unless given the nutrition that they need starve. As algae grows in your tank you will see him feed more on that than anything, but perhaps this one has taken a preference to something he finds more tasty than other bicolors! In other words, it's not unusual.
