I am wearing gloves during the zoa fragging. as you can see in the pictures.
I took them off for the LPS so I could have a better feel of what the skeleton was doing when I went to snip it. I use rubber bands to hold my gloves closed so they dont fill with water, my fingers tend to lose feeling after a little while of fragging.

I believe so. I have never actually measured it.

the rock weighs almost 20lbs alone, once submerged in water far more. for transport the shipping cost would be astronomical. the only way I could ship it would be in a 5g bucket inside an insulated box. 5g of water is awful heavy. if your really interested I can look into shipping cost but I think it would be far too much.

The projects are looking great. The branch LR your using are going to look pretty incredible once encrusted...I know what you mean about trying to ship the big pieces. A while back I did a project like this and ended up with several huge pieces that are now finally starting to encrust, problem is they are too big. I had to move one of them to a tank thats at one of my retail stores and the blasted thing would not fit in a 5g bucket, finally had to use a a cooler lined with bags, make up a bunch of water etc........
.
If you ever need to ship something like that, use Southwest Air Cargo, it's an airport to airport shipping method. I order stuff from LA at 9 in the morning and it arrives around 2-3 the same day. You could ship a 5g bucket wrapped in insulation and then inside of a box for maybe $60-$100 depending on how far. It's just a pain to ship this way as you sometimes have to sit around and wait for goober and his cohorts to figure out how to open a door without hurting themselves, serious..

I was mounting some zoas to my rock and when I pressed the putty to the back of the plug.......it SQUIRTED!! Like 2 feet in the air and about an inch away from my eye!!
From now on whenever I am moving, cleaning, fragging, or just touching zoas or palys I will not only wear gloves, but also glasses!!
