Big Hermit Crap

Hello,
I purchased a huge hermit crap from my LFS today. he is about 2 inches.
My question is one of his baby arms fell off but he is still very healthy and active.
Will it grow back? What could be the cause.
New Tank only 2 weeks old and only has him and 2 damsels in it.

Most likely it will grow back. They have the ability to regenerate legs during molting. You already have 2 damsels? Probably not a good idea

I was thinking about putting the hermit in my main DT with my Puffer's and foxface and other small inverts.
Do you think the larger hermit will eat the rest? or vice Verca puffer eat him?

IMO the hermit might attack your other hermits but I don't think the puffer will bother it not unless you forget to feed it

LOL if i forgot to feed my puffer i think he would get some sort of mobile fish tank and chase me. He is a begger! every time i walk by he shoots to the top of the glass to get fed. He try's to get me to feed him 3-4 times a day. But he only eats once :)
This hermit sure is big. And he just molted last night!

haha. Well maybe he will get to eat 3 times the day you put the hermit in lol. So how much did you pay for him? Is he a blue leg?

Red leg. Paid $12.00
They had a bigger one the size of a softball but my tank isn't big enough.
My puffer is a fatty.

Yea the ones they get by me are on steroids or something. I put him in my DT tank and so far the only thing bothering it is my fox face but i think he is more curious then anything else.

What's a hermit crap?

Mine lose legs in molts occasionally. I just wish my pistol shrimp would lose his snapper in a molt. Next molt it should come back.

I had a hermit crab that was about the size of a softball i got it for 10 dollars. It turned out to be a terrible idea though he ate almost everything besides my eel and ripped off both of my powerheads. He would also move the live rock around in the tank. I eventually had to sell him back to avoid further damage.

That's no regular red legged or scarlet hermit. My LFS gets them in as well. I wouldn't call them hermits lol. Not sure what's the correct name for them. But they do get pretty big(baseball size) and my LFS said they could probably catch and kill slower fish like clowns, etc. Even the Electric blue Hermits don't get that big.
