i had a tank completely set up for an asfur angel. it is a mature tank that has nearly perfect water and then i went away on vacation and the tube from the fluval 404 that dumps teh water back in fell out and dumped all but like 20 gallons of water out of the tank. the asfur is still in my qt tank. i filled the tank back up and got the salinity back to normal and added 10 pounds of live sand on top of the live said i already have lining the bottom. my question is do you think if i let the water cycle for 2-3 weeks it'd be ok to put the asfur into the tank. there is nothing in the tank except a blue damsel. the tank is a 100 gallon.

I am not and expert on angels at all but i dont see why it wouldnt be ok if you water parimeters are all good and the tank was already matured you sould have all the assencial bacterial growth .i set my reef tank up with new live sand a few LR from my agressive tank and a couple handfulls of cc let it sit for a week or so so far its doing fine.but if your angel is not a very hardy fish and difficult to keep if you have any doubts listen to your instincts.

IMO if you haven't already filled her up i would think you could just add like 20 gal. of new water each day or something and once she was filled up add yer stock back in. If you still had 20 gals of water left over from an already established tank i don't see why you would need to let it cycle.

A tank can't cycle without anything to keep the nitrogen cycle going. If you add live sand, and no other fauna, the live sand will be basic CC within a couple of weeks.
