If all the fish are exposed there is no sense removing them to another tub...if it isn't a reef you can just treat the whole tank.

There is a big problem with that. That means you will always have ich in the tank and a cleaner shrimp is not only, not guaranteed to clean the fish all the time, but is also not going to get the ich that is deeply imbedded in the skin or gills of the fish. Also anytime the fish gets stressed out it mean they will get an outbreak again. Better to do it the right way and not have to ever do it again.

The problem is this...Most QT or hospital tanks are not large enough for all the fish...the stress of a tiny tank will cause bigger concerns. For fish only tanks the solution is easy...for 1 fish the solution is easy
I had ich in my reef..I gave my fish shrimp soaked in fresh garlic to help build the immune system..then I upped the heat to 82-84 so my fish would be comfortable...I purchased two large cleaner shrimps...6 months later...still no ich and no fish loss.

I agree with Flower. I also add some vitamin C in with the food to help keep them healthy all the time. And my cleaner shrimp love to clean my fish. I see them hangin on to the fish while they are swimmin around.
