Big Scare ... won pro heat II

As I was just about to lay down to go to sleep last nite, I decided to check my tank one last time just to take a look. LUCKILY, I noticed the temp said 77 (using a won pro heat II with digital display). I knew this couldn't be right, so I tried to find the problem. I found it with the temperature probe. The suction cup for the probe had come off of the glass and the probe was out of the water. I quickly put the probe back in and the temp was now at 84 because the heater had been on trying to get the temp back up. Luckily nothing happened and the temp is back to 80. It could have easily fried everything had I not noticed. Just thought I would share for anyone who has a probe with their heater ... make sure it is secure!

Phew!!! I lost everything in my 35 gallon a few years ago thanks to a heater gone berserk. It wasn't pretty. Wish I'd double checked that baby before bed as well!!

I now have the probe pretty much secured behind my overflow so hopefully it won't happen again!
