hockey and soccer are contact sports so therefore smart teams carry "thugs"/enforcers on their teams to protect their superstars. most of these guys off the ice/field are actually great guys with no crimal history they are just big men who get trust into this role and except it because it is the only way they would be playing a professional sport.
basketball is not a contact sport, it is a finesse sport which sometimes has contact i.e. taking a charge thats it therefore there is no need for people to be thugs unless they truely are or they are just TRYING to act like one.
oh and i wouldnt call that a punch. if you want to see a punch watch Derek Boogaard from the Minnesota Wild fight. he has already caved in some guy's face this year, i think he playes for LA i dunno check it out on video site or something if you want.
