I'm not sure whether this is the place for this post, but which one is better or is there a difference?

Bang guy,
Why wouldn't you use either? I should clarify that this would be on an aggressive fish only tank. What would you use?
Thanks

The reason that people are going away for useing bio-balls is they have been know to cause high nitrates, I have used them in the past on an aggressive tank with no problems for over five years. You can clean bio-balls, I was cleaning a 25% every couple of months, just rinceing them in the water I took out of my tank on a water change, just to get the junk off of them, this seem to work for me.
