Yes im still very new at sw tank but ive been reading and i was looking at archives and found the one on bio-balls wether its benefit is there or not.I have a 55ga wnumerous phs bio-wheel 350,cpr skimmer,50lbs lr,and 35lbs sand which some is live. So anyway like i said was looking at that and saw something in regards to rubble in the sump...well considering that im not running sump what would thoughts, negative,or positive effects ideas on taking out the bio-material on the outtake side of the skimmer and replacing it w live rock. I dont know just thought bout it and figured id ask. Thank you

I would do a refugium with live rock, live sand, and macroalgae. of course, you'll need some kind of light down there, but you should be able to get one for $15.

Thanks for writing was just curious to hear ideas on this considering the rock rubble wouldnt be getting really in light source.

They won't be getting the light source, yes! BUT they'll be a breeding ground for your bacteria!!! IMO, rock rubble is the way to go! :happyfish

Thank you for input and advice...was wondering about light source, even thought bout some type of clip light up top for it...really doubt it would be enough. But if the rubble will be better then the bio-bale then will be changing that out soon. And again Thanks

I converted my wet/dry to a fuge, best thing I ever did. You can get a coralife 2x9w light for $20, just sue a small sheet of plexiglass from home depot, sit it on top of the wet/dry and the light on top of that, toss in some LR rubble and some chaeto.
