I would like to ask you all a question. Should i use bio-balls in a sump or remove them and add something else? I herd that its allright to keep them since i just have a FOWLR system but then i herd that they are nitrate factorys.... So what should i do?

i hate to throw everyone under the bus here...but i had moderate to high nitrates.... was given some advice to slowly remove the bio balls and replace them with LR ruble....I did. My trates are at 0-1 since i have done that. so therefore i believe that what they told me is absolutly correct...and that is that they are a trate trap.

This is true... if you go with bio balls, you must clean them regularly or they will trap a ton of debris and waste. But if you want some bio balls, I have a bunch extra that I can send in your package.

Where can i get LR rubble? Any special brands or do i have to crush up my live rock from my tank? Jcrim, thanks for the offer but i do believe scubadoo is sending them to me along with the sump.
