Bio Balls

I have seen alot of posts about refugium, does anyone have pictures of a diy sump with bio balls? Any diagrams or just words of advice.

I don't have any pictures of mine, But I used a 20 gal high, and some acrylic from Lowe's. I enclosed an area about 6 inches wide and 8 inches deep at the top on one of the sides to hold the bio balls, then there is a 10 inch wide compartment for a refugium (Live sand and Macro algae), there arae some holes about 5 inches off the bottom on the pump side so that water can get through with a filter block on the other side. The rest of the tank is dedicated to a protein skimmer and a return pump. The whole thing is plumbed in with PVC piping. Sorry this can be kinda confusing, but i hope it helps

No i meant filter block, it's just a sponge that makes sure that all of the debris gets taken out of the water. I also have another smaller one in the overflow.

Where do you get this sponge? Can you clean it and reuse it? I'm tired of buying filters from my LFS for my refugium every month..How well does the sponge work? Thanks-
