i run a wet/dry filter for my 90 gallon tank. Am i supposed to have some sort of slime or something growing on my bioballs thanks.

they grow micro bacteria on them, so they might be slimey, ill tell ya next week im going to clean half of mine then. todd

the bacteria that gorws on the bio balls is slimy, so if your bio balls are slimy its ok
(OK THAT SOUNDED WRONG:confused: )

thats the problem..............no slime............. no dirt..........nothin(prolly why my tank crashed not the live rock)

mine has been runing for 6 months ...............no slime.......somethin has to be wrong............should i start over

It should be working correctly if there is a constant water flow over over the bioballs.
If it were to dry out or if tap water was poured on it the bacteria would die.
More info about the crash might help.
