Biozyme for cycle

I dont know if people have read my last couple post, here is the just of it. I undertook the cc to sand conversion and I am experiencing a cycle. All but one fish and two hermits have died:( Am level has dropped some and nitrItes have raised a little, so I am assuming the cycle is taking place. This has happened within a week and a half time frame. I went to the LFS and they suggested a few additives I could use to establish a bacteria base faster. The one i chose is Biozyme. Dont know if you know about it, but it is bran powder with the bacteria on it. Other things he sugested were Stress Zyme and Cycle. The only reason I purchased it was to lower my levels faster and put less stress on my few tank members left. I am just wondering if this was a good choice or should I go with one of the other two additives.
Also, once the bran settles on the sand, my fish has learned he can stir up the sand and the bran floats again letting him eat it. Is this just defeating the purpose of puttin that powdery stuff in, should I get a liquid? Thanks guys.

I wouldnt ad anything additives to it. it will occur naturally. and once you start adding additives then it could turn to the worse later from buil up of chemicals in the tank. alot of them are not made for SW .
one thing if you cant test what you are adding dont add anything that way you dont add to much and overdose anything. and if you dont know exactly what it is you are adding dont add it.

i have found Cycle to be helpful in cycling my tank faster, and I add a maintainance amount of it weekly - does no harm, only good.

I have used the cycle product when I first set up my tank, however upon receiving much advice on it from this board as well as other fish stores, the general consensus is that the product is really not as effective as the labeling would have you believe. I never did notice any change in water quality when using it compared to not, its your money, but personally I think the use of these types of products is a waste.

I have used Cycle in the past and have had luck with it. I work at a LFS and have had many people I work with reccomend Biozyme for sw. You will soon find out that there is a 100 was of doing the same thing so find what works best for you and good luck.

I've used Cycle in the past, and continue to do so. I've had nothing but good results come from using it. All of my tanks that I've setup in the past have cycled completely in 2-3 weeks. I normally use it when I add a new fish, or do water changes. It really has helped me keep 0 nitrates. I added a baby picasso trigger to my tank a few months ago and he sent the nitrates skyrocketing(up to 30ppm from 0.) After I added the cycle, the very next day the nitrates were 0 and they have stayed that way ever since. I dont see any problems with using Cycle in a SW aquarium. :D

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to answer. If this biozyme doesnt start to show some effects by the end of next week and my fish are still alive, then I will purchase some CYCLE. again many thanks
