Is it normal for it to turn completely white? It was brownish when i added it to the tank 2 weeks ago, and it has slowly turned completely white ..... I hope its not dead :help:

NO, that's not normal. Did you take it from a dim store tank (brown) and put it under brighter lights at home? You might have bleached it...
Try putting it on the bottom of your tank where it will get a little less light and see if it comes back... if it bleached bad it could take a while.
As long as it doesn't smell of death I'd give it a chance to recover.
This is how mine looks, both in the store and when I got it home:

Green Bird's Nest, Seriatopora caliendrum

It has been in my tank 3 days now and still looks great.

It never looked like that LOL..
no i took it from a member of a local reef club he gave it to me to help get my tank stocked with some different corals... he gave me the birds nest and about 7other frags...
he had it under metal halides and said that my pc lighting would be enough but to put it at the top of the tank... its at the top and has turned white...
iv never seen it look the way yours does

I bleached an acro once under VHO's... took it home from LFS where it was under MH and put it smack dab in the middle of my tank close up to the water, it almost died. I had 300w VHO and it was under 150 MH. Go figure.

Ugg. Those look bad, especially the first one. Have you tested your water? I see a lot of algae... phosphate level?

The algae thats left is from a total GOOF on my part... iv had my ro machine hooked up wrong for the past 6 month.... I was getting more flow out of my "good" water and less flow out of my "waste" water.... i put the RO cartridge in futher and now its working correctly "less flow out of "good"water and alot of flow out of the "waste" i also bought a TDS meter.
I had a huge algae bloom also from High tank temps, that with bad water had brown algae on the sand and green algae on the rocks...
Sand is now completely clean and the rocks are slowly clearing.

Well, bad ammonia/nitrites/nitrates and phosphates can for sure mess up your coral, I'd run some tests and see how they come out.

Shnabbles - Nitrites should be 0.
It's under a 250w 20000k MH pendant. That picture is from second day in tank.
It is looking even better now, about 1 week later.

I only have that small frag myself!

It's an ORA frag and I have seen ones like it for sale on websites...
I got a feeling it is really a Seriatopora guttata
as that is what other sites selling ORA Bird's Nests call them, but who knows. I guessed at the species after having looked it up in Bourneman's book.
