black bar chromis

anyone have any experience with the black bar chromis (chromis retrofasciata) ? i was thinking of getting a small school of 5 or 7...
everything i've read says they're really peacefull - just want to hear if anyone has experienced diffrent...

i know they are a species of damselfish... but then, so are clownfish...
anyone ever keep them before?

They are "relatively" peaceful. You do realize that even the blue-green Chromis that everyone keeps are actually pretty aggressive toward one-another? A large tank with plenty of hides would be appropriate for a small group of the black-bars.

cool - yeah that sounds alot like everything i've read about them... most say they are 'relativly' peaceful ... one article i read mentioned that if kept in small schools of 5-7 they are less likely to be agressive to eachother and tank-mates...
it is a 55gal with many many many caves & niches...
have you had them before wax?

No, but they are on my short list of Chromis that I like. I have seen them in a couple of stores and I almost have come home with some a couple of times.

i think i'm going to get a small school of 5 for my 55...
i'm still on track for being ready for fish in september...
my DIY base rocks are almost done and ill start curing them this weekend... if anyone wants to see them, check out my journal in lighting equip, and DIY
