black dots on clowns

might as well ask this -- learn all I can... whats the difference between hypermelanization and black ich -- visually speaking ?

The best way I can explain the two is that hypermelanization is IN the skin where black ich is ON the skin. Black ich will have more of a bump, be it very tiny, to it and raise off the skin where hypermelanization is like having a freckle on your skin, it's IN the skin, just a change in pigmentation in a certain spot. Black ich will also move, as it is a parasite, so you may not see the dots in the same place all the time.
I've also noticed that hypermelanization is usually larger than black ich, but not always.

It's honestly hard to see until you really know what both look like first hand. But that's the best way I can describe it for you.
