Black Ich vs White Ich

I have looked at the disease forum. I think my PB Tang started out with white ich and got better, now it looks like he had black ich. I see where the treatment is a formlyne bath. would garlic extract still help rid of the disease?
Garlic extract will not help either situation. FRESH garlic is used to boost the immune system for white ich, AKA Cryptocarryon irritans. White ich is treated with either copper or hyposalinity. Black ich is treated with formalin baths. My suggestion is to put all fish that were in with this fish into hyposalinity. Catch the tang from the QT for his every other day formalin baths.
