Black Ich

My tang looked like he got ich after the first week I got him. Treated the tank with Ich Attack, and it looked like it went away. However, I now see a bunch of black spots all over him, and he's scratching rock all over the tank. I'm not sure if this is black ich, or it's a result of him rubbing the white spots off, and it's just his blue fins/coating missing were the ich was attached. I've got a QT/HT setup and am ready to drop him in it. Do I treat black ich like the normal ich, and do the hypo, or is there some other treatment for this? I read somewhere about a formulin bath. Not sure if that's done in a QT tank or not.

Paravortex is the causative agent of black spot disease, notably of yellow tangs it is eliminated by freshwater dipping or formalin baths. search out Beths post on Formalin baths. good luck

Can you post a picture. Or look at the examples of black ich in the Diseased Fish Thread at the top of this forum.

Hard to really see anything in those pictures. Can you get a closeup of the problem areas.

My camera doesn't have a macro, but if you save those pictures and use Windows Photo Gallery, you can see the black spots on his face. I'll see if I can get better shots

He looks pretty healthy, i think the black spots on his face aren't anything if you look at pictures of a lot of hippo tangs, a lot of them have black spots on their face.
