Black sand

HI all - I will be setting up my 100 gallon in a month or so. I am trying to figure out what exactly that I want this time around.
Do any of you use the black CaribSea sand? Can you give me pros and cons and post pictures please?
I would like to know if you prefer the looks of the black over the regular Aragonite sand? My sand always seems to look dirty - do you have this problem with the black sand? What about black sand with a black back ground???
Please all comments and pictures.

I think black sand can make things pop real well, but spoting a problem on,your sand bed may be harder. Looks real nice other wise.

matter of opinion. mine is that it looks very unnatural. yes i know it does come from a reef but in general its not normal. I have seen a few fish only tanks that i found it to look nice in but for the most part i feel the white natural sand looks much nicer. with a good sand clean up crew you can keep you sand very nice with little to no effort.
i almost never touch my sand bed. and it stay so white its hard to look at lol

See I don't like the looks between the sand and the glass. Also the top kinda looks ugly(not yours...MINE). What size is your tank? How much of a cleaner crew do you have in it? Your sand looks good

Black sand doesn't reflect light, this means your corals get less light.
A black car gets dirty looking just as fast as a white car.
Cerithium snails (commonly called "cerith" snails) and Nassarius snails do a great job cleaning sand. So do some Turbo snails. The last one gets kinda big and knocks frags over sometimes.

That said, my sand goes through periods where it is kinda dirty looking and then a few days later is totally clean.
I think even black sand will probably look yucky along the glass... light travels through the glass and lights it up from the side... you will still see the funk I would think.
